Submission to Remote Participation and Employment Servicing Arrangements

The Discussion Paper’s focus on participation and employment in remote Indigenous communities is welcome because it distinguishes remote communities from the majority of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. But it does deal with the inappropriate government policies that are the cause of low remote Indigenous labour force participation and high unemployment – and also fails to draw attention to remote locations with labour shortages.
