Australians have ‘lost faith’ in RBA after second rate rise — Sky News

Centre for Independent Studies Director Michael Stutchbury analyses what RBA Governor Michelle Bullock had to say when she announced the second rate rise. “The reason why we are having this is because people, voters, businesses are sort of losing a bit of faith in the ability or the commitment of the government, and to an extent the Reserve Bank, to really get on top of this inflation,” Mr Stutchbury told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “If people think that inflation is going to keep on going, then it becomes a bit self-fulfilling.”
