Sue Windybank

Sue Windybank is currently a project editor at CIS, and was twice editor of the Centre’s quarterly journal, Policy (which ceased publication in 2018). With a masters degree in international studies, Sue also helped establish the Centre’s inaugural foreign policy program in the early 2000s as well as a four-year project on China and free societies in 2019. Her first major CIS paper was the much-cited Papua New Guinea on the Brink, co-authored in 2003 with Mike Manning. She has published widely on PNG and the Pacific as well as Chinese strategy in the Southwest Pacific. Sue also taught geopolitics for several years at the University of Sydney before setting up a freelance editing business.
