The Century of Networking

Rupert MurdochNovember 15, 1994OP51

Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive of The News Corporation Ltd, argues for an optimistic view of how the century of networking will change social, political and economic life. For Australia and New Zealand, it opens up new opportunities to overcome the tyranny of distance through fast, cheap communication. In world politics the free flow of information undermines tyranny and promotes freedom. Mr Murdoch endorses free markets as the institutions that will best enable us to achieve and take advantage of technological breakthroughs.
